Our community is reeling from the effects of a pipeline leak that caused nearly 1 million gallons of oil to pour into the Kalamazoo River. The oil spill has forced residents out of their homes, poisoned our waters, killed wildlife and left businesses and farmers unable to make a living.

The oil company that owns this pipeline, Enbridge Energy Partners, must be held 100 percent accountable for the devastation it has caused. In no way should taxpayers foot the bill for increased staffing and cleanup crews, relocating homeowners and all of the other mounting costs. Enbridge must pay for every cent.

Join the growing list of citizens standing together to ensure that Calhoun County receives the appropriate cleanup and containment efforts that this tragedy demands and that those responsible for this disaster are held accountable.

Sincerely,
Kate Segal
